Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arnold Simbecka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Minakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Arnold Simbecka has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arnold Simbecka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oleg Minakov!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minakov loads up on a big right hand but Simbecka slips the punch.
Simbecka appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Minakov gets a clinch.

Minakov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Minakov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Simbecka's waist but Simbecka gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Minakov off to one side.
Minakov moves in looking to clinch but Simbecka pushes him off.
Oleg Minakov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Minakov throws a nice looking combination but Simbecka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Simbecka appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Simbecka has been working on his balance at Kemps training camp, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Minakov.

Minakov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Simbecka is fending him off so far but Minakov persists. Nope, Simbecka circles away and we're back to standing.

Simbecka drops down looking for an ankle pick but Minakov pulls his leg out and moves away.
Minakov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Minakov is defended easily by Simbecka.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Minakov. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Simbecka is keen to just control but Minakov is a slippery customer.
