Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dewey Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adnan Kan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adnan Kan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dewey Benton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adnan Kan!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kan finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Kan gets a clinch.
Kan lands a body punch in the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Kan wants to get back to striking at distance but Benton won't allow it.
Benton gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kan.
Benton really is a fat lump.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Adnan Kan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Benton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kan as he jumps to the side.
Kan tries for a takedown but Benton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Benton is looking to counter with head kicks.
Dewey Benton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adnan Kan.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kan.
Kan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Benton attempts a counter takedown but Kan avoids it well and moves away.

Kan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Benton wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Benton tries to kick Kan off but Kan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Benton is refusing to be controlled, as Kan sits in half guard.
Benton pushes Kan off looking to stand but Kan dives back in and keeps control.
Kan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Benton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Benton to the ground. Kan is now in Benton's guard.

Kan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Benton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kan counters with a two punch combo.
Benton is breathing heavily.

Kan has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Benton.
Kan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kan moves into the clinch.
Kan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kan tries to pull guard but Benton won't allow it.
Kan tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Benton tries to pull guard but Kan won't allow it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kan gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Benton doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kan.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adnan Kan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Benton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kan but Kan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Benton shoots in for a takedown but Kan shows good takedown defense.

Kan closes the distance and pushes Benton back into the cage.
Kan jumps guard but Benton stands there with Kan around his waist. Kan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Benton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kan as he jumps to the side.

Kan manages to break the clinch.
Benton looks for a takedown but Kan sprawls well.

Kan pushes Benton away with a front kick.

Kan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kan showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kan frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Adnan Kan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Benton tries to circle away but Kan has him pinned against the cage.
Benton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kan walks away with a smile on his face. Benton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Adnan Kan seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Kan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Benton did well to prevent Kan getting side control.

Benton manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kan keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Benton is trying to break the clinch but Kan is controlling him.
Kan is pushing Benton up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Kan throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kan keeps control of Benton as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Kan successfully pulls guard.

Kan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Benton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kan has his foot on Benton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Benton works his way back into a safe position though.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Kan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Benton on his heels. He'll look to pass Benton's guard now, I'm sure.

Benton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kan manages to get himself to full guard.

Well Kan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
