The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Klim does it's job there.
Declan looks to land a right hand but Klim moved out of range.
Klim throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Declan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Klim buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Klim lands with a hook. Declan tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

It looks like Michael Patrick Declan has been cut.
We've been told by Klim's head coaches at Holding Cell that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Declan shoots and misses
enabling Klim to counter with a crisp jab.
Klim moves out of range as Declan strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Declan drops his hands momentarily and Klim takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Klim cracks Declan with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Klim lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Declan circles away quickly and effectively.
Declan misses with an uppercut.
Klim connects with a body shot.
Declan doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Klim counter with a right hand.

Declan drives through with a takedown into guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Declan working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Declan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Klim manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Declan has Klim in his guard.

Declan looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Klim has picked Declan up and slammed him! Declan can't keep hold of the triangle and Klim manages to pass to side control!

Klim is trying to ground and pound but Declan uses the momentary lack of control by Klim to regain half guard.
Declan is not content to let Klim control the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Declan tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Klim has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Klim thows a huge punch but Declan dodges it nicely.

Declan looking for a sweep. Not yet Declan, not yet.
Klim trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Declan manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Declan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Klim lands a body shot.
Klim takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Klim displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Declan throws out the jab.
Klim goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Declan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Declan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Declan drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Declan as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Klim screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Declan! Nice submission victory there!
