Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dexter C Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dexter C Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Bravo!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morgan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bravo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bravo looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Morgan passes into side control.

Morgan tries to advance to mount but Bravo denies him.
You can see the frustration on Bravo's face as Morgan controls the position.
Bravo wants to control but Morgan postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Morgan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Bravo rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Morgan's guard! Nice work there by Bravo!
Bravo wants to control from the top but Morgan keeps moving.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Morgan wants to sweep here but Bravo controlling him for the moment.

Bravo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Morgan dives on top into guard.

Morgan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bravo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Morgan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bravo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bravo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Morgan is stalling in the full guard.
Bravo is adopting a defensive guard.
Morgan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Morgan throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morgan throws a big right hand that misses.
Morgan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Morgan's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bravo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Morgan on the side of the head.

Morgan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bravo sprawls well initially but Morgan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dexter C Morgan dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Bravo lands the left hand.
Jab by Bravo.
Bravo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Morgan but Morgan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Bravo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Morgan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morgan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Morgan is pushing down on Bravo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bravo is fighting to maintain full guard but Morgan has managed to sneak the leg through.

Dexter C Morgan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bravo is holding on to half guard well.
Well, if Morgan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bravo is trying to control but can't.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Morgan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Morgan takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Morgan fails to land with a series of punches.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Morgan.

Morgan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morgan wants to advance to full mount but Bravo doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Morgan gets to his feet - Bravo follows without any prompting.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Morgan here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Morgan on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Bravo lands a jab to the head.
Bravo lands a jab to the nose.
Bravo misses with a double jab.
Nice uppercut there from Bravo.
Morgan takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Sloppy strikes from Morgan. Those never looked like landing.

Morgan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bravo trying to keep a closed guard but Morgan is proving a slippery customer.
Bravo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Morgan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Morgan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bravo for as long as he can get away with.
Morgan continues to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but James Bravo will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Bravo cracks Morgan with an open hand slap.
Bravo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bravo jabs at Morgan's body.
Morgan takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Morgan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Morgan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Morgan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
James Bravo seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Morgan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bravo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bravo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Morgan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morgan trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Bravo manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Bravo wants to sweep but no luck.
Morgan passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Morgan tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Bravo is trying to get back to half guard.

Morgan is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bravo will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Bravo struggling a bit here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bravo reaches up around Morgan's neck trying to control. But Morgan takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Bravo! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Bravo is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Morgan celebrates the victory with the fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Dexter C Morgan!
Our winner, Dexter C Morgan, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
