The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Derby thuds his right hand into Vanna's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Vanna takes one on the button.

Derby gets caught napping as Vanna dives in and scores a takedown. Derby manages to retain guard.
Derby knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vanna on the ground.

Derby is pushing Vanna's head away, looking to escape. Vanna manages to hold on to the position though.

The referee asks Vanna politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Vanna prefers to stall for the moment though.

Let's hope that Vanna has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Vanna shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Derby defends it nicely.
Vanna tries to close the distance and clinch but Derby swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Derby fakes the body blow, causing Vanna to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Vanna goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
