Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corey Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Britt Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Red comes into the arena with One Step Closer-LinkinPark blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington throws a body punch but Red moves out of range.
Washington keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

It looks like Corey Red has been cut.
Washington scores with a jab to the jaw.
The fight stays on the outside here - Red looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Red looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Washington is fending him off so far but Red persists. Nope, Washington circles away and we're back to standing.
Washington misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Red.
Red wants to clinch up but Washington keeps it at a distance.

Washington scores with a one two! Red had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Red is rocked!

Red moves into the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Washington tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Red prevents a body shot from Washington.

Red gets control of Washington's arms and successfully pulls guard. Red will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Washington is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Washington stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Red swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Red working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Washington doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Washington manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A relieved looking Britt Washington thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
