The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yagin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Brubakers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Yagin throws the kick towards the body but Brubaker avoids it.
Brubaker shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Yagin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brubaker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Brubaker tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Yagin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Brubaker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yagin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yagin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Yagin won't allow Brubaker to sweep him here.

Yagin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Yagin fails with a takedown attempt.
A combination from Yagin does no damage.
Yagin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Yagin there as he acknowledges the shot.
Yagin goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Yagin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brubaker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Brubaker wants to hit a switch here but Yagin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Brubaker there!
Yagin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Yagin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yagin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brubaker sprawls well initially but Yagin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Yagin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brubaker's waist but Brubaker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yagin off to one side.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Brubaker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yagin circles away quickly and effectively.
