Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adnan Kan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andy Frederick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adnan Kan!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kan wants to pass the guard but Frederick is keeping the position.
Kan wants to control from the top but Frederick keeps moving.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Frederick holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frederick wants to get back to his feet but Kan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Frederick wants to stand but Kan is controlling the position.

Frederick wants to get back to his feet but Kan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kan darts in looking for a takedown but Frederick gets double underhooks and turns Kan into the cage.
Frederick bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Frederick swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Frederick throws a sloppy body shot

and Kan moves into the clinch.
Kan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Frederick avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Frederick tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kan's elbow.

Frederick gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kan blocking the ground and pound attempt from Frederick.
Kan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Frederick content to control rather than advance.
Frederick working over Kan with some ground and pound. Kan looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Frederick decides to return to a standing position.
Kan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Frederick sprawls well. Frederick wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kan gets slowly back to his feet.
Andy Frederick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adnan Kan.
Kan looks winded!

Frederick shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kan looking for a sweep. Not yet Kan, not yet.

Frederick is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Frederick really is a fat lump.
Frederick throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Frederick is one step ahead there.

Frederick thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kan has momentary wrist control but Frederick slips an elbow through the middle.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kan wants to sweep here but Frederick controlling him for the moment.
Frederick stands up over Kan, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andy Frederick dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kan misses with a takedown attempt
and Frederick makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Frederick darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Frederick landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Frederick scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Frederick not doing much here.
Frederick is just content to waste time from the top position. Kan takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frederick cracks Kan with a solid left hand.

Kan has momentary wrist control but Frederick slips an elbow through the middle.
Frederick landing with the ground and pound.
Kan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Frederick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Frederick stands and throws Kan's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kan is breathing heavily.
Frederick scores with a couple of short elbows.
Frederick working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Kan takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Frederick is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kan can do to turn this around?
Kan takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Frederick cracks Kan with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Kan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Frederick wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Frederick has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Kan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Frederick sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kan somewhat.
Kan misses with a series of wild punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A little feinted left hand from Frederick on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Kan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Frederick throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kan was covering up waiting for the punch and Frederick finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Frederick with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Frederick lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Frederick gets to his feet. Kan looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kan throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Frederick counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kan won't be happy with that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Frederick connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kan some visible discomfort.
Frederick lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kan down.

Frederick has an Americana. Kan didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Frederick is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Frederick hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
