Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erik Hiller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harold Shipman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiller comes into the arena with Rush and Run - Shake and Jump blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Erik Hiller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harold Shipman!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiller lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hiller throws an off balance right hand
and Shipman counters with a straight right hand.

Shipman looking to score a takedown here. Hiller is defending well but Shipman drives through and ends up in Hiller's guard.
Shipman scoring with punches to the head and body.

Shipman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hiller has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shipman has managed to get both his arms back between Hiller's legs - danger averted.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shipman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hiller bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shipman's guard.

Shipman wants to stand and escape but Hiller is having none of it.

Hiller looking to sit in guard and control but Shipman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shipman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hiller's head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Shipman's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Shipman is working Hiller over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Shipman is in close to Hiller's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Hiller controls Shipman momentarily but Shipman frees himself.
Shipman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hiller's head.

Hiller is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shipman defends well.

Shipman is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hiller leaves Shipman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Shipman takes a kick to the side of the head.

Shipman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Shipman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Shipman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Hiller sneaks back into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hiller tries to get to full guard but Shipman has control of the leg.
Hiller moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Shipman wants to control from the top but Hiller keeps moving.
Shipman makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Hiller lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hiller is really struggling to control Shipman but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Shipman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Shipman lands a nice short elbow.
Shipman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hiller gets full guard.
Hiller has momentary wrist control but Shipman slips an elbow through the middle.
Shipman wants to control from the top but Hiller keeps moving.
Hiller will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hiller looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.

Shipman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Hiller lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Shipman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hiller is controlling him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hiller chips away with some ground and pound.

Shipman is looking for a triangle but Hiller pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Harold Shipman will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Shipman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hiller sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shipman somewhat.
Hiller throws a hook but Shipman avoids it easily.
Hiller looks to land a left hand but Shipman moved out of range nicely.
Hiller throws a big shot that misses.
Shipman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hiller swivels and escapes.

Shipman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hiller sprawls well initially but Shipman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hiller wants to control the action here but instead Shipman manages to pass to full mount!

Shipman thows a huge punch but Hiller dodges it nicely.

Hiller throws some strikes from the bottom but Shipman isn't bothered - he's working on a kimura... it looks tight... it is! Hiller is tapping and screaming like a little girl! Ouch, that looks painful! Good win for Shipman!

After winning the bout, Harold Shipman thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
