Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Grigoryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Justin Biggs!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Biggs scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Grigoryan doesn't seem bothered though.
Grigoryan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Grigoryan has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Justin Biggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grigoryan cracks Biggs with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Justin Biggs has been cut.
Biggs looks to score with a jab to the body but Grigoryan is just out of range.
Biggs misses the jab.
Grigoryan closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Grigoryan throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Grigoryan walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Biggs checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Biggs clobbers Grigoryan with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Biggs swinging wildly here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Biggs. Grigoryan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Grigoryan throws a quick counter head kick but Biggs was just out of range.
Biggs takes one to the side of the head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Biggs darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Biggs misses with a double jab
and Grigoryan counters with a thumping low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Biggs throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Biggs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Biggs misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Some bone on bone action there as Grigoryan checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Grigoryan defending well as Biggs loads up on a big left hand.
Grigoryan closes the distance and pushes Biggs back into the cage.
Grigoryan misses with a body punch.
Grigoryan misses with a punch to the body.
Biggs's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Biggs prevents a body shot from Grigoryan.
Biggs wants to break the clinch but can't.
Biggs wants to get back to striking at distance but Grigoryan won't allow it.
Biggs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Biggs on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Grigoryan drops Biggs with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Biggs looks back up at him and smiles so Grigoryan waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Biggs is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Biggs backs away from a small jab... but Grigoryan lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Biggs crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Grigoryan with a spectacular finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Daniel Grigoryan!
