Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darius Frank Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Micheal Bates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darius Frank Jr!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates throws a right hand that Frank Jr ducks under and follows up with a left that Frank Jr also avoids with ease.
Frank Jr throws a counter combo.
Frank Jr moves out of range of the leg kick from Bates.
Bates has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Bates looks to land a combination but Frank Jr avoids it well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frank Jr wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bates manages to pass to side control.

Bates throws a hook but Frank Jr avoids it easily.
Frank Jr lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Frank Jr.

Frank Jr connects with a right hand. Bates shakes it off.

Bates wants to control but Frank Jr is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frank Jr is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bates is controlling him well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Micheal Bates will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bates is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Bates looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Frank Jr with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bates has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Frank Jr tries to kick Bates off in order to stand up. Bates Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Bates scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Frank Jr is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Bates can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
