The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by ElSahla!
ElSahla misses with a wild combination.
Powers shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with ElSahla but ElSahla pushes him off and we're back to square one.
ElSahla throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Powers's waist but Powers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing ElSahla off to one side.
MoMo ElSahla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Powers has ElSahla up against the cage in a clinch.
ElSahla has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Powers holds on and takes a little breather.
ElSahla loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

ElSahla shoots in looking for a takedown. Powers tries to sprawl out of it but ElSahla keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Powers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Powers is looking to clinch but ElSahla is avoiding it.

Powers is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down ElSahla's shoulder. That is not cool.

Powers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. ElSahla swivels though and keeps the full guard.

ElSahla has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Powers has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Powers jumps guard but ElSahla turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
ElSahla is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Powers to keep the fight standing.
Powers has ElSahla pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. ElSahla manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Powers prevents a body shot from ElSahla.

Powers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
ElSahla walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Powers checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
ElSahla sets himself, and Powers steps forward looking for the clinch! ElSahla avoids it this time.
