PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abed Nadir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Avon Barksdale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nadir comes to the cage accompanied by M.A.S.H Theme. The crowd seem to be enjoying Barksdale's choice of entrance music: Three Six Mafia - Its A Fight . I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Avon Barksdale was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 31 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Abed Nadir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 23 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Avon Barksdale!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nadir slips under a jab from Barksdale.

Nadir seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Barksdale for as long as he can get away with.
Nadir has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

That was a close round but I would say that Abed Nadir will probably get the nod.

Nadir sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Nadir's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Nadir is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Barksdale can do to turn this around?

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nadir, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
