The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGinn's coach down at Kalashnikov MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McGinn's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

McGinn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Texas is fending him off so far but McGinn persists. Nope, Texas circles away and we're back to standing.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Texas.

Texas lands a nice hook to McGinn's body. McGinn takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Texas lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McGinn has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McGinn and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Texas throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McGinn on the side of the head.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Texas does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Johnny Texas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Texas seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGinn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Texas's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Texas's back!

I would just about give that final round to Bernard McGinn.

A very excited looking Johnny Texas rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
