PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Mohamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateusz Biernat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalidov comes to the ring accompanied by Tech N9ne - Come Gangsta. Biernat has chosen Ghostbusters as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mohamed Khalidov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mateusz Biernat!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalidov chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Khalidov tries to close the distance and clinch but Biernat swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Biernat moves into the clinch successfully.
Khalidov lands an uppercut.
Biernat told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Khalidov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Biernat is defending well for now.
Khalidov prevents Biernat from breaking the clinch.

Khalidov stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khalidov lands a nice knee to the body.
Khalidov lands a hook that snaps the head of Biernat backwards.
Khalidov makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Biernat is trying to force a seperation but Khalidov has the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Khalidov is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Biernat is keeping busy.
Biernat is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Khalidov tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Khalidov connects with a knee to the head.
Biernat takes a knee right on the jaw!

Khalidov keeps control of Biernat as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Khalidov throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Biernat blocks it with crossed arms.
Khalidov has a couple of punches blocked by Biernat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Khalidov scores a nice knee to the body.
Khalidov pushes Biernat back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Khalidov misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Biernat.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Khalidov tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Biernat's elbow.
Biernat wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Khalidov lands a knee to the body.
Khalidov misses with a hook from the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mohamed Khalidov dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Biernat misses with a left hand
and Khalidov counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Khalidov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Khalidov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Biernat stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mateusz Biernat is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Khalidov paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Biernat throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Khalidov counters with a stiff right hand.


Biernat is rocked!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Biernat crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Khalidov - the referee stops the clock and Biernat gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Khalidov. Biernat manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Biernat is still on wobbly legs! Can Khalidov finish him?
Biernat swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Khalidov scores with a hook to the body. Biernat takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Look low, kick high! Khalidov uses the oldest trick in the book to send Biernat tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Khalidov is absolutely delighted - when Biernat wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mohamed Khalidov!
Mohamed Khalidov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
