The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nigels shoots in looking for a takedown but Orton manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nigels's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Nigels is trying hard to land a takedown here. Orton sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nigels shoots for a double leg takedown but Orton sprawls well. He's pushed Nigels's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kris Nigels. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Orton stuffs the takedown attempt from Nigels. Nigels gets slowly back to his feet.
Kris Nigels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Orton has his feet on Nigels's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Nigels is breathing heavily.
Nigels shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Orton gets full guard.
Orton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Orton takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Nigels avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Orton.
Orton content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Orton's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Orton is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Nigels is forced to tap! Great finish!
