Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Troy Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Gero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Troy Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Gero!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gero decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gero looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Lynch tries to kick Gero off but Gero keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Gero not doing much here.
Lynch slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Gero looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Lynch has his feet on Gero's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Gero feints and as Lynch raises his hands in defense, Gero changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lynch can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gero controls the pace.

Gero got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lynch has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gero has managed to get both his arms back between Lynch's legs - danger averted.

Lynch trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Gero postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lynch is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gero, into his guard.

Lynch stands and steps away. Gero gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Lynch darts in looking for a takedown but Gero gets double underhooks and turns Lynch into the cage.
And Gero tries to counter it with a takedown but Lynch pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Lynch scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Lynch drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lynch is looking to take a break and control but Gero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Lynch is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gero has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gero is not content to let Lynch control the position.
Gero is looking to regain half guard here but Lynch keeps moving and retains side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Gero is working to avoid the ground and pound but Lynch connects with a decent elbow.
Lynch creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Gero sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Lynch is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Lynch tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Lynch tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lynch decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Lynch shoots in for a takedown but Gero shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Lynch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Troy Lynch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lynch pushes Gero off and gets back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Gero. No joy for Lynch on that attempt.
Gero tries to clinch up but Lynch circles away and keeps his distance.
Lynch is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gero can do to turn this around?

Lynch throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gero was covering up waiting for the punch and Lynch finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gero avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Lynch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lynch fails with a takedown attempt.
Lynch connects with a crisp jab.

Lynch shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gero manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Gero has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Lynch off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Lynch throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Gero fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Lynch checks it well.
Lynch seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Lynch dives in for a single leg takedown but Gero sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Gero is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lynch works over Gero's head and body with a nice combination.

Gero is looking to take a break and control but Lynch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lynch wants to get back to his feet.

Lynch has one foot on Gero's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Gero wants to take a breather but Lynch is having none of it.

Gero looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

I would just about give that final round to Nathan Gero.
Well Lynch has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
