The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asashoryu connects with a good right hand that stumbles Presle. Presle circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Ludovic Presle has been cut.
A telegraphed right hand from Asashoryu misses the target.
Asashoryu moves out of range of the body kick.
Asashoryu is looking to counter punch.
Asashoryu throws a head kick that misses.
Presle swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Asashoryu counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Ludovic Presle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Presle looks winded!
A jab lands there for Asashoryu.
Presle throws a series of punches but Asashoryu moves out of range.
Asashoryu throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Presle crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Yokozuna Asashoryu!
After the fight, Yokozuna Asashoryu was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
