And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Scott Heughan!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs throws a body shot but no joy.
Heughan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Briggs throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Heughan counters by clinching up.
Briggs tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Heughan smiles and moves away.
Briggs connects with a good right hand that stumbles Heughan. Heughan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Heughan dodges the punch combination from Briggs.
Briggs avoids the body shot from Heughan.

Heughan moves into range and clinches up with Briggs.
Briggs tries to pull guard but Heughan forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Heughan creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Briggs's defenses.
Heughan misses with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Heughan lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Jim Briggs has been cut.
Heughan comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Briggs blocks a body shot from Heughan.
Heughan lands an elbow inside.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Briggs tries to pull guard but Heughan won't allow it.

Briggs jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Heughan walks away with a smile on his face. Briggs gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Heughan moves in looking to clinch but Briggs pushes him off.

Briggs takes an elbow to the forehead.
Briggs fails to pull guard.

Briggs pulls guard.
Heughan trying to control but Briggs is working from the bottom.
Heughan is stalling in the full guard.
Heughan looking to pass the guard.
Heughan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Briggs is looking for a triangle but Heughan pushes his legs off easily.

Heughan looking to sit in guard and control but Briggs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Briggs gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Heughan gets tackled into the cage by Briggs. Briggs maintains the clinch.
Briggs fails to pull guard.
Heughan can't find room to land a body shot as Briggs controls the action.
Briggs has been working on his balance at Island Top Team, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Heughan.
Briggs is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Heughan to keep the fight standing.

A very excited looking Scott Heughan rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
