The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boston swats away the attempt to clinch by Grant.
And Boston tries to counter it with a takedown but Grant pushes his down on his head and steps out.

and Boston counters with a single leg into guard. Grant didn't expect that.
Grant pulls Boston in to control the position.
Boston in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boston is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ulysses Grant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Grant leaves Boston with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Boston closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Boston is nestled in close to Grant, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Boston working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boston is taking a breather. Grant says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Boston seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Boston scores with a big shot! Grant's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Grant! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
