PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jaun-Paul Fredrickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Tentheros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jaun-Paul Fredrickson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ken Tentheros!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tentheros throws a lazy right hand but Fredrickson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Fredrickson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fredrickson misses with a takedown attempt - Tentheros sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Tentheros lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Fredrickson at a distance.
Tentheros swings for the body but Fredrickson moves out of range.

Tentheros throws a leg kick which misses Fredrickson's front leg but catches the back leg as Fredrickson tries to avoid it.

And Tentheros tries to counter it with a takedown but Fredrickson pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Ken Tentheros seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fredrickson throws a looping overhand right but Tentheros ducks down to avoid it.

Tentheros closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Tentheros lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Tentheros looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fredrickson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Tentheros is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fredrickson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fredrickson's back!

That was a close second round but I would say that Jaun-Paul Fredrickson will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jaun-Paul Fredrickson.
I think Fredrickson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
