The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maulin listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Maulin throws a right and a left that Lawler avoids nicely.
Lawler fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lawler shoots in looking for a takedown but Maulin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lawler's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Maulin listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Lawler shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lawler was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Maulin can't do much from the bottom here.
Maulin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Lawler is looking to take a break and control but Maulin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lawler is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maulin has escaped the position, nice work there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lawler is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Maulin is trying to escape and Lawler transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Maulin is forced to tap! Nice work there by Lawler! Very nice indeed!

A determined Jerry Lawler didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
