The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hedes throws out a loose jab but Alves uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hedes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Alves.
Alves drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hedes defends it well.
Alves scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hedes wants to get back to his feet but Alves is dominant here and he's now got Hedes's back!
Alves keeps control of the position as Hedes tries to break free.
Alves has managed to slip his arm under Hedes's chin. This could be all over... yep, Hedes is tapping out! Submission win for Alves.
