Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Smith and George Pedro. Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by AC/DC. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as George Pedro enters the cage!

With a record of 30 wins, 8 losses and 2 draws, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Pedro!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pedro dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Smith. That did some damage!
Pedro on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smith. Smith obviously looking to wear him down.
Pedro throws a body shot but no joy.
Pedro missing with a left hand there. Smith was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A little feinted left hand from Smith on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Smith.
Smith thumps Pedro with a low kick.
Pedro throws a wild body kick that Smith sees coming a mile off.
Smith has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

As Pedro backs away, Smith returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Pedro comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Pedro scores with a nice hook to the head.

Pedro is fighting off a takedown attempt but Smith is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Pedro to the mat. Pedro regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
