Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Otavio Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grim Deathgrip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Otavio Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Grim Deathgrip!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deathgrip throws a poor cross that misses

and Johnson counters with a single leg into guard. Deathgrip didn't expect that.
Johnson is standing up over Deathgrip. Deathgrip looks to escape but Johnson dives into side control.

Johnson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Deathgrip!

Johnson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Deathgrip lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.


It looks like Otavio Johnson has been cut.
Johnson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Johnson checks a leg kick.
Johnson tries to counter by clinching up but Deathgrip breaks away and moves out of range.

Johnson tries to keep at a distance but Deathgrip has taken the fight into the clinch.
Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Deathgrip walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Deathgrip takes the fight into the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Deathgrip lands a left hand that snaps the head of Johnson backwards.

Johnson pulls guard successfully.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Deathgrip from controlling successfully.

Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Deathgrip defends well.
Deathgrip is looking to pass into half guard but Johnson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Johnson is in guard.

Johnson lands a couple of digs.
Deathgrip looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Deathgrip keeping full guard, as Johnson tries to pass.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Deathgrip is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Deathgrip is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Deathgrip is pulling down on Johnson's head to control his posture.

Johnson won't allow Deathgrip to get back to his feet.
Deathgrip looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Deathgrip controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.
Deathgrip looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Deathgrip clinches.
Deathgrip effectively controlling the action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Deathgrip breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Deathgrip keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Otavio Johnson will probably get the nod.

That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Deathgrip stuns Johnson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Deathgrip lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Deathgrip breaks the clinch.
Johnson looks for a takedown but Deathgrip sprawls well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Deathgrip has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.

Deathgrip escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson dives in and grabs Deathgrip's left leg, looking for a takedown. Deathgrip pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.

Deathgrip closes the distance and clinches.

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Deathgrip rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Deathgrip breaks from the clinch.
Johnson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Deathgrip sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Otavio Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Deathgrip tries a head kick but it misses.
Grim Deathgrip is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Deathgrip fails in his attempt to clinch.
Johnson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Johnson checks the leg kick nicely there.
Johnson blocks a jab.
Johnson ducks under a wild hook from Deathgrip.

Deathgrip wants to clinch.
Johnson attempts a counter takedown but Deathgrip avoids it well and moves away.
Deathgrip is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Johnson.
Johnson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Deathgrip pushes Johnson up against the cage in a clinch.
Deathgrip dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Deathgrip lands a right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Johnson is rocked!


Otavio Johnson's cut is getting worse.
Deathgrip effectively controlling the action here.
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Deathgrip pulls back and lands a big elbow that stuns Johnson! Deathgrip unloads with more strikes and Johnson sinks to his knees! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Grim Deathgrip!
Our winner, Grim Deathgrip, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
