The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Nice defenses there by Boothe.
Boothe tries to counter with a takedown but Shinawatra is quick to defend against it.

Boothe seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shinawatra for as long as he can get away with.
Boothe fails to move to back control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Boothe is working hard here to advance position.

Boothe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
