PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between AC Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Seyedi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slater's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Stop What Ya Doin. Seyedi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hypnotize- Biggie smalls kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, AC Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ali Seyedi!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Seyedi.
Slater stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Seyedi.
Slater throws a hook but Seyedi blocks it.
Ali Seyedi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Seyedi scores with a hook to the body. Slater takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Slater doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Seyedi lands a jab to Slater's midsection.
A good leg kick by Seyedi.
Seyedi throws a body punch but Slater moves out of range.
Slater connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Seyedi's hands.
Slater connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Nice cross by Seyedi.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Seyedi tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Slater is able to avoid easily.
A shot to the liver by Slater. Beautiful body shot.
Slater scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Slater on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Seyedi feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Slaters jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Seyedi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Slater manages to avoid it.
A little feinted left hand from Slater on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Seyedi tries to work over Slater's front leg with a kick but Slater checks it.
Seyedi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Slater rather than just go for the knockout.
Slater needs to keep his hands up - Seyedi had a free shot at his head there.
Seyedi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Slater loads up on a big right hand but Seyedi slips the punch.
Slater throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Seyedi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Slater changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Seyedi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Slater lands a nice forearm strike.
Seyedi is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Slater misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Slater wants to lay and pray for a moment but Seyedi keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Seyedi avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Slater.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Seyedi tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Slater is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Seyedi will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Slater is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Seyedi has escaped the position, nice work there.
Seyedi is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Slater is looking to take a break and control but Seyedi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Seyedi trying to remain calm as Slater controls from the top position.

Seyedi is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Slater is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Seyedi is squirming around, avoiding Slater's attempts to control the action.
Seyedi sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Seyedi is not content to let Slater control the position.
Slater slows the pace down in half guard.
Seyedi tries to roll over but Slater keeps him under control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Slater misses with a head shot. Seyedi uses the momentum to regain guard.
Slater working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Slater works over Seyedi with some ground and pound from guard.
Seyedi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Slater throwing strikes but missing.
Seyedi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Slater is looking to work some ground and pound but Seyedi has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that AC Slater will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Seyedi throws a solid leg kick but Slater takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Seyedi.
Slater gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Seyedi counters with a left to the body.
Seyedi takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Seyedi cracks Slater with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Seyedi walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Slater counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Seyedi!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slater sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Seyedi is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Seyedi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Slater wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Slater tries to score with some ground and pound. Seyedi controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Seyedi looks to move to half guard but instead Slater has passed into mount! Damn!
Slater wants to control the pace but Seyedi is squirming around nicely.

AC Slater overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Slater has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Seyedi's face.
Slater unloads with some shots from mount but Seyedi bucks and avoids them well.
Slater avoids the attempt from Seyedi to control.
Slater wants to control the pace but Seyedi is squirming around nicely.

Slater avoids the attempt from Seyedi to control.
Slater postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Seyedi looks a forlorn figure.
Slater trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Slater throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Slater lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Seyedi is looking to improve his position but Slater isn't that keen on the idea.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slater scoring with strikes but Seyedi is staying in there.
The referee warns Seyedi that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Slater cracks Seyedi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


Seyedi is rocked!
Slater is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Seyedi goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Slater!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). AC Slater!
A less than humble AC Slater misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
