Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Gilmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roldo Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gilmore gets caught flat footed, as Hayes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Gilmore has his feet on Hayes's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Hayes looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Gilmore tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hayes was well out of range. Poor timing from Gilmore.

Hayes throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gilmore tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hayes is in Gilmore's guard.
Gilmore is wriggling around but Hayes manages to pass to half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Gilmore pushes Hayes off and gets back to his feet.
Gilmore lands a nice hook to Hayes's body. Hayes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Hayes drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Gilmore wants to hit a switch here but Hayes passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Gilmore there!
Gilmore wants to get back to his feet.

Gilmore is working hard here to advance position.
Gilmore really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hayes looking to control but Gilmore is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gilmore keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Gilmore is trying to reverse the position but instead Hayes has taken his back - oops!
Hayes looking to hold on to the position here but Gilmore rolls and ends up regaining guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gilmore looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hayes passes into half guard.

Gilmore is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hayes's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hayes's back!

Hayes is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Hayes rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Hayes is refusing to be controlled, as Gilmore sits in half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Leandro Gilmore will probably get the nod.

Hayes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gilmore's guard.

Gilmore has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hayes has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Gilmore drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hayes gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Gilmore turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Gilmore manages to end up in side control.

Hayes sneaks out the side door and pushes Gilmore away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hayes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gilmore.
Hayes has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Gilmore is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Hayes dives in and scores a takedown into Gilmore's guard.

Gilmore throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hayes escapes and throws Gilmore's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hayes wants to control but Gilmore is keeping him busy.

Hayes is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Gilmore is trying to escape and Hayes transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Gilmore is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hayes! Very nice indeed!
