The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Richardson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wang is in Richardson's guard.

Richardson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wang feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Wang content to control rather than advance.
Richardson wants to control but Wang is keeping busy.

Wang bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Richardson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As Richardson backs off Wang throws a huge counter combo but Richardson manages to avoid it all.

Wang shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wang was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
