Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kane Shaam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paha Hemmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kane Shaam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paha Hemmo!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaam looks to land a body kick but Hemmo moved away.

Hemmo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shaam napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Shaam is looking for a sweep.

Shaam's coaches at Ueshibas Temple of Cloud Warriors have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Shaam looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hemmo is fending him off so far but Shaam persists. Nope, Hemmo circles away and we're back to standing.

Hemmo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Shaam is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hemmo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shaam was covering up waiting for the punch and Hemmo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Shaam controls Hemmo momentarily but Hemmo frees himself.

Hemmo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hemmo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hemmo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Shaam lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hemmo creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Shaam is trying to trip Hemmo. He has hold of a leg but Hemmo is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Shaam persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Shaam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hemmo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hemmo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Paha Hemmo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hemmo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shaam manages to get himself to full guard.


Shaam is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hemmo defends well.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Paha Hemmo.
I've got Hemmo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
