Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Harrison Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Low Qui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Low Qui enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Harrison Vaughn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Low Qui!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vaughn instigates a clinch.
Vaughn keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Qui's efforts to push away.
Vaughn tries a body shot but Qui blocks it.
Vaughn throws a head punch that misses.
Vaughn utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Vaughn misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Qui.

Qui manages to break the clinch.

Vaughn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Qui stopping the sweep attempt from Vaughn.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vaughn wants to stand and escape but Qui is having none of it.
Qui slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Qui stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Qui shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Vaughn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Vaughn looking to control.
Vaughn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Qui is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vaughn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Qui defends it easily.
Vaughn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vaughn wants to sweep but no luck.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vaughn has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Qui has passed into side control.
Qui wants to control but Vaughn is keeping him busy.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Qui swings around for an armbar but Vaughn sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Qui's guard.
Vaughn tries to stand but Qui is controlling from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vaughn's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Vaughn decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Qui drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vaughn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Qui missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Qui throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Qui trying to control but Vaughn is working from the bottom.
Vaughn seems keen to control Qui's posture.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Qui throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A nice inside leg kick there by Qui. That's going to slow Vaughn down.
Qui throws a wild body kick that Vaughn sees coming a mile off.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Qui throws a sloppy head kick
and Vaughn counters with a stiff right hand.
Qui throws a right hand that Vaughn ducks under and follows up with a left that Vaughn also avoids with ease.
Vaughn half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Low Qui will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Vaughn tries to keep at a distance but Qui has taken the fight into the clinch.

Qui breaks from the clinch.

Vaughn closes the distance and clinches.

Qui ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Qui no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Vaughn wants to stand but Qui has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Vaughn won't allow Qui to sweep him here.
Low Qui has got the better of the ground game so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vaughn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Qui manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vaughn manages to get himself to full guard.

Vaughn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Vaughn thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Qui postures up in Vaughn's guard and throws a big left but Vaughn blocks it.
Vaughn looking for a sweep. Not yet Vaughn, not yet.
Vaughn is working hard here to advance position.
Qui trying to control the position from guard on top but Vaughn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vaughn wants to sweep here but Qui controlling him for the moment.
Vaughn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Qui really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vaughn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Qui got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vaughn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Qui has managed to get both his arms back between Vaughn's legs - danger averted.
Qui wants to control from the top but Vaughn keeps moving.

Vaughn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Qui doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Qui manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Qui is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Qui moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Vaughn wants to slow Qui down by chopping away at his legs.
Vaughn checks the leg kick nicely there.
As Qui looks to move away, Vaughn throws a big counter combo but Qui just gets out of the way.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Qui gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Qui has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Vaughn clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Qui struggling to keep hold of the position.
Vaughn trying to survive by controlling the hands.
Qui is trying to control but Vaughn is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vaughn is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Vaughn throwing hammer fists to the chest of Qui. What's that going to do exactly?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Low Qui showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Qui shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vaughn is trying to defend but Qui finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Vaughn scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Qui manages to mount him!
Vaughn is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Qui can't control as he wanted to and Vaughn manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Qui is trying to control. Vaughn wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Vaughn wants to control but Qui is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Vaughn is controlling Qui's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Qui seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vaughn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Vaughn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Vaughn gets full guard.
Qui throwing strikes from guard but Vaughn blocks nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Qui is looking to stand up but Vaughn won't let him.
Qui in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Vaughn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Vaughn has his foot on Qui's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Qui works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Qui trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Vaughn throws a series of punches but Qui avoids them all with ease.

Qui manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vaughn on his heels. He'll look to pass Vaughn's guard now, I'm sure.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Vaughn keeping moving, preventing Qui from controlling successfully.
Qui is stalling in the full guard.

Qui postures up and lands a big shot to Vaughn's brow.
Vaughn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Qui won't allow Vaughn to sweep him here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Qui shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Qui was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Harrison Vaughn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Low Qui is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Vaughn throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

And that's the end of the fight!
Low Qui comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Qui winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
