The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricci uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hamed.
Hamed cracks Ricci with a good jab.

and Ricci cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ricci lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Hamed circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Ricci to the canvas! Ricci doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Hamed keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

A very excited looking Ahsan Hamed made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
