Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Warren Wynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raymond Conn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raymond Conn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Warren Wynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Raymond Conn!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wynn closes the distance looking to clinch
and Conn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Wynn could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wynn takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Conn's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Conn duly obliges.

Wynn closes the distance and clinches.
Wynn tries to pull guard but Conn holds him up against the cage and eventually Wynn drops back down to his feet.
Wynn is looking to take this one to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Conn turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wynn struggling a bit here.
A lull in the action here.

Wynn is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Conn has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Conn controls the position from side control.
Wynn gets back to half guard.
Wynn trying to control from the bottom.
Wynn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wynn is working hard here to advance position.
Wynn flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Wynn is looking to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wynn trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Conn is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wynn is trying to stand.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Conn clinches up against the cage.
Wynn looking to slow down the pace here.
Wynn tries to land knees in the clinch but Conn avoids the damage to the body.

Good body shot from Conn.
Conn misses with a body punch.

Conn jumps guard.
Wynn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Conn uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Wynn is looking to clinch but Conn is avoiding it.
Conn swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Conn scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Conn looks winded!

Conn decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Raymond Conn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Conn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wynn seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Wynn fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Conn to the ground. Wynn is now in Conn's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wynn gets to his feet. Conn looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Wynn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Conn shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Conn showed some decent athleticism there.

Wynn has one foot on Conn's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Conn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Conn is trying to force a seperation but Wynn has the dominant position.

Conn decides to pull guard.

Wynn decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Conn gets tackled into the cage by Wynn. Wynn maintains the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raymond Conn dominated that round.
That's time! Wynn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Conn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wynn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Conn pushes Wynn up against the cage in a clinch.

Conn pulls guard successfully.
Wynn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wynn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Conn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wynn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Conn is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Wynn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Wynn gets to his feet - Conn follows without any prompting.
Wynn really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Conn misses with a double jab

and Wynn counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Conn is breathing heavily.

Wynn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Conn is just riding it out for now. Wynn eventually gives up the hold.

Wynn gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Conn pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Wynn tries to clinch up.
Conn tries a head kick but it misses.

Conn gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wynn to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Warren Wynn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wynn trying to control the position from guard on top but Conn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wynn lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Wynn decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Conn, up you get!
Wynn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Conn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Conn bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wynn can't do much from the bottom here.
Conn in side control, throwing shots but Wynn defends.
Wynn is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wynn tries to bench press Conn off him but Conn keeps the position.

Wynn throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Conn avoids the strikes from the bottom by Wynn.
Conn is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
You can see the frustration on Wynn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Conn lands a nice forearm strike.
Wynn is looking to reverse the position.
Wynn is pushing Conn's head away, looking to escape. Conn manages to hold on to the position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Conn stands up and beckons Wynn to his feet.
Conn throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Wynn counters with a three punch combo that has Conn backing up. Conn nods at Wynn to acknowledge the strikes.
Conn lands a two punch combo.

Conn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Wynn is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Conn dives into side control.

Conn wants to control but Wynn is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Raymond Conn will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Conn darts in and clinches Wynn up against the cage.

Conn pulls guard.

Wynn is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Conn is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Conn has escaped and now he's on top!


Wynn has his feet on Conn's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Conn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Wynn wants to get back to his feet.

Wynn trying to hold on to Conn's head to control him but Conn postures up.
Wynn tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Conn wants to take a breather but Wynn is having none of it.

Wynn makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Wynn appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Wynn tries to clinch but Conn moves out of range.

Conn swats away the attempt to clinch by Wynn.
And Conn responds with a good body kick, but Wynn manages to step out the way in time.

Conn has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wynn is looking to take this one to the mat.

Conn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Raymond Conn seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wynn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Conn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Conn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wynn stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Conn lands with a light punch inside.
Conn is trying to break the clinch but Wynn is controlling him.
Conn lands a hook to the side of the head.
Conn wants to get back to striking at distance but Wynn won't allow it.

Conn pulls guard effortlessly.

Wynn drops back looking for a leg! Conn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Conn manages to kick Wynn off! Wynn jumps back into Conn's guard.

Wynn stands up from Conn's guard - Wynn perhaps looking for a knockout.

Conn looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Wynn!
Wynn is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Conn is controlling him well.
Wynn takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Wynn misses with an elbow from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wynn can't do much from the bottom here.
Warren Wynn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Raymond Conn is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Wynn is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Conn has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Raymond Conn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Conn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Raymond Conn decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
