With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rick Minard!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richardson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Richardson scores with a punch to the head.
Richardson throws a hook to the side of Minard's head but Minard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Minard feints the counter takedown.
Minard keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Minard shoots and misses
and Richardson counters with a right hand to the body.

Richardson sets himself, and Minard steps forward looking for the clinch! Richardson avoids it this time.

Richardson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Minard dives into side control.
Minard throws an elbow but Richardson slips to the side and avoids it well.
Richardson parries the strikes from Minard easily there. Minard is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Richardson to escape.
You can see the frustration on Richardson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Minard is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Richardson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Minard sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Richardson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Minard is looking to take a break and control but Richardson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That was a close round but I would say that William Richardson will probably get the nod.

Minard shoots for a takedown but Richardson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

We've been informed that Minard has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Richardson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Richardson wants it to stay on the feet.
Rick Minard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Minard is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
