The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem blocks a head kick by Kagely.
Kagely dives in for a single leg takedown but Overeem sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kagely throws a left and a right that both miss
and Overeem counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kagely fails in his attempt to clinch.

Kagely closes the distance looking to clinch
and Overeem counters with an outside leg kick.
Chris Kagely seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
