Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tristan Fenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Datsik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fenix's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, For Heavy Metal we will die!. Datsik has chosen Classic as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tristan Fenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, David Datsik!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fenix throws a hook but Datsik avoids it easily.
Datsik misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fenix.
Datsik throws a body kick that misses.
Datsik misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fenix cracks the inside of Datsik's front leg.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Datsik enables Fenix to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Datsik manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fenix got a little sloppy there for a moment and Datsik has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fenix has managed to get both his arms back between Datsik's legs - danger averted.

Datsik has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fenix can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Datsik not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Datsik is just content to waste time from the top position. Fenix takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Fenix can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Datsik controls the pace.
Fenix is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fenix paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Datsik walks into a stiff left hand from Fenix.
Datsik lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Fenix uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Datsik.
Fenix appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Datsik swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Datsik throws a hook but Fenix avoids it easily.
Datsik slips a jab from Fenix.
Datsik thinks about the counter body kick.
Datsik throws a sloppy body shot
and Fenix cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nice straight punches there by Fenix. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Fenix.

Fenix throws a low kick but Datsik avoids it.

Fenix feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Datsik's calf.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Datsik is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fenix.

Datsik looks to land a combination. Fenix sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Tristan Fenix has been cut.

Fenix misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Datsik fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Fenix is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Datsik can do to turn this around?
Fenix throws a nice looking combination but Datsik bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Datsik is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

David Datsik is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fenix tries to move into range but Datsik moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Datsik. Fenix shrugs it off though.
Fenix ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Datsik moves away.
Datsik checks the leg kick nicely there.
Fenix lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Datsik at a distance.
Datsik throws an overhand right that lands on Fenix's shoulder, as Fenix tries to avoid the shot.
Fenix will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Datsik doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Datsik scores with a sloppy right hand. Fenix should have avoided that one.
Fenix throws out a loose jab but Datsik uses good head movement to avoid it.

It looks like Fenix has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Fenix is rotating here... this could be the end... Datsik is out! Fenix has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!

In his post fight interview, Tristan Fenix started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
