Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leopoldo Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Ryan will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Leopoldo Ray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ray displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ryan.
Ray slaps away a takedown attempt from Ryan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ray jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ryan.
Leopoldo Ray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Ryan.

Ray could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ray is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ryan defends well.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Ray is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ryan is aware though and is defending well.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ray is on top in guard.

Ray seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ray has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Ray looking to sit in guard and control but Ryan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ryan lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round but I would say that Leopoldo Ray will probably get the nod.

Ray stuffs the takedown attempt from Ryan. Ryan gets slowly back to his feet.
Ray seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Ryan shoots in for a takedown but Ray shows good takedown defense.
Ray is looking for a counter combo.
Ryan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ray sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ryan somewhat.

Ryan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ray's waist but Ray gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ryan off to one side.

Ray lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Ray has momentary wrist control but Ryan slips an elbow through the middle.

Ryan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ray has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ryan has managed to get both his arms back between Ray's legs - danger averted.

Ryan shoots in looking for a takedown but Ray manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ryan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ray working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Well Ray has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
