The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones is looking to score with low kicks.

and Jones counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Gilbert throws a body shot but no joy.
Jones throws a chopping leg kick but Gilbert manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Gilbert ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gilbert's coach down at Golden Eagle Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gilbert's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gilbert swings wildly with an uppercut but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gilbert throws a big uppercut that drops Jones! More strikes from Gilbert and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Jones lies dazed against the cage as Gilbert celebrates with his cornermen!
