Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kalou Frigi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danielos Pawiloks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kalou Frigi had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kalou Frigi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 16 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Danielos Pawiloks!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pawiloks closes the distance and clinches up with Frigi, looking for a takedown. Pawiloks pushes Frigi against the cage but Frigi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Frigi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pawiloks paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Frigi fails to land the takedown.
Pawiloks on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Pawiloks has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Frigi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pawiloks circles away.

Frigi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Frigi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pawiloks's head.
Frigi is trying to control the action in half guard but Pawiloks is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pawiloks can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frigi is really struggling to control Pawiloks but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Frigi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Pawiloks slaps away a takedown attempt from Frigi, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kalou Frigi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Frigi shoots in but no luck this time.

Pawiloks shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Frigi pushes Pawiloks off and gets back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Frigi avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Frigi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A head kick misses from Pawiloks.
Frigi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pawiloks avoids it really well and circles away.
Frigi is breathing heavily.
Frigi avoids the head kick by Pawiloks.
Frigi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Frigi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Pawiloks counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Pawiloks tries to pass to full mount but Frigi defends it.
Pawiloks sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Frigi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Frigi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pawiloks looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Pawiloks's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Frigi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kalou Frigi will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Pawiloks closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Frigi's guard.
Pawiloks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Frigi lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Frigi seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Frigi is trying to control the position but Pawiloks postures up.

Pawiloks decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frigi shoots for a takedown but Pawiloks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Frigi rushes Pawiloks and presses him up against the cage.
Frigi is trying to stall.
Pawiloks is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Frigi is defending well.

Frigi has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pawiloks is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Frigi landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Pawiloks wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Pawiloks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Frigi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Frigi tries to free his leg and advance position but Pawiloks is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pawiloks throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Pawiloks throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Frigi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pawiloks is in Frigi's guard.
Frigi is trying to keep Pawiloks in close.
Frigi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Pawiloks is refusing to be controlled, as Frigi sits in half guard.
Pawiloks tries to get to full guard but Frigi has control of the leg.
Frigi wants to take a breather but Pawiloks is having none of it.
Pawiloks wants to control but Frigi is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Pawiloks makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Frigi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pawiloks's hands.
Pawiloks circles away from the clinch attempt.
Horrible takedown attempt by Pawiloks or perhaps it was just good defense by Frigi, which made it look bad.
Frigi tries to clinch there but Pawiloks circles away.
Frigi lands a head kick!
Pawiloks thows a left - swing and a miss!
Frigi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Frigi closes the distance and clinches up with Pawiloks, looking for a takedown. Frigi pushes Pawiloks against the cage but Pawiloks circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Frigi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pawiloks has gone for a leg lock! Frigi slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pawiloks's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Danielos Pawiloks will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Frigi tries for a takedown but Pawiloks sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Pawiloks takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Danielos Pawiloks seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Frigi throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Pawiloks.
Frigi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pawiloks defends well and Frigi ends up having to push Pawiloks into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Frigi has hold of Pawiloks's hands but Pawiloks slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pawiloks looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Frigi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Frigi gets full guard.
Pawiloks sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Frigi's guard.
Frigi is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pawiloks scores with a couple of nice shots.

Pawiloks drops an elbow to the side of Frigi's head.
Pawiloks tries to pass the half guard into mount. Frigi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Pawiloks seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Frigi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Frigi lands with a nice combination. Pawiloks backs away looking to recover.
Pawiloks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Frigi moves away.
Pawiloks throws a nice looking combination but Frigi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A little feinted left hand from Frigi on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Kalou Frigi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Frigi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kalou Frigi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Frigi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Pawiloks counters with a nice double leg into side control. Frigi won't be happy with that.

Pawiloks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Frigi keeps working.
Pawiloks landing a few strikes.
Frigi is not content to let Pawiloks control the position.
Pawiloks remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pawiloks stands up and we're back to a striking position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Danielos Pawiloks comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pawiloks has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
