The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Officer lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Hayes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Officer smiles and moves away.
Hayes has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Casino in the buildup to the fight.
Officer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hayes swivels and escapes.

Officer felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hayes cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Officer is in all sorts of trouble here.

Officer is desperately trying to improve his position but Hayes has a good base and remains in mount.
Officer seems to have recovered his senses.
Hayes breaks from Officer's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Hayes is working for a guillotine from mount but Officer frees his head quite easily.

and Hayes counters with a straight right hand.
Hayes avoids the body shot from Officer.
Officer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Officer ducks under a wild hook from Hayes.

Hayes clinches up with Officer and pushes him back against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hayes.
Hayes misses with a knee strike.

Officer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Officer cracks Hayes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Officer moves out of range as Hayes strikes.
Officer throws a counter combo.
Officer throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hayes connects with a crisp jab.

and Hayes counters with a single leg into guard. Officer didn't expect that.
Hayes stands up over Officer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Officer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hayes defends well.

Officer throws out a loose jab but Hayes uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hayes's jab looks to have found its range, popping Officer under the eye.

Officer shoots in but Hayes avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Police Officer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hayes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Officer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well Hayes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
