Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Antony Avila!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jorundr The Crow!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Crow darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Avila is trying to control but can't.
The Crow wants to stand up but Avila is controlling the position.
Avila trying to hold on to The Crow's head to control him but The Crow postures up.
The Crow slows the pace down in half guard.
The Crow seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The Crow wants to work for an arm triangle but Avila is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Avila is trying to maintain the position but The Crow is very close to passing his half guard.

Avila is looking for a sweep. The Crow is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Avila is trying to control but can't.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Avila tries to clinch but The Crow is having none of it.
Avila will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The Crow has Avila pulled in close to control his posture.
The Crow is looking to stand up but Avila isn't so interested in that idea.
The Crow is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The Crow throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Avila tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. The Crow is in Avila's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The Crow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Avila swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jorundr The Crow dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Avila looks for a takedown but The Crow sprawls well.

The Crow has closed the distance and engaged Avila in a clinch.

The Crow pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The Crow shoots in and bounces Avila off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Avila is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The Crow stops Avila from standing up.
The Crow is in close to Avila's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Avila is trying to keep The Crow in close.
Avila can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as The Crow controls the pace.

Avila is looking to stand back up but The Crow counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Avila.
Jorundr The Crow has got the better of the ground game so far.
Avila wants to control but The Crow is keeping busy.

The Crow is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Avila sees it coming and defends easily.

Avila is looking to control The Crow's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Avila avoid being mounted?
Avila is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because The Crow is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The Crow closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The Crow goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Avila has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for The Crow but great work by Avila.
You can see the frustration on The Crow's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jorundr The Crow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The Crow swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Avila is now in The Crow's guard. A big mistake from The Crow there, giving up the dominant position!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if The Crow can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well The Crow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
