Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mugabi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Mugabi!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios cracks Mugabi with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
It looks like John Mugabi has been cut.
Mugabi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A little feinted left hand from Rios on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Mugabi throws a hook but Rios blocks it.
Mugabi blocks a jab.
Mugabi scores with a nice head shot.
Rios throws a right hand that misses
and Mugabi counters with a nice body shot.
Mugabi throws a leg kick that misses.
Rios connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Mugabi lands the left hand.
Rios misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mugabi.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rios lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mugabi has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mugabi and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Rios throws a leg kick
enabling Mugabi to counter with a crisp jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rios misses with a double jab.
Mugabi lands a big head kick that sends Rios tumbling to the mat! Mugabi takes a step backwards and waves Rios back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Rios is rocked!
John Mugabi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Rios, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oh Rios is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rios keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
An attempted straight right counter from Rios misses the target.
Rios seems to have got his legs back now.
A telegraphed right hand from Rios misses the target.
Rios misses with the combination.

Rios moves into the clinch.
Mugabi lands a shoulder strike.
Mugabi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mugabi lands with a shot to the body.
Mugabi lands a big right hand that sends Rios crashing to the mat! Mugabi stays standing though and waves Rios back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rios throws a hook to the side of Mugabi's head but Mugabi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rios avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rios keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mugabi lands with a nice body punch.
Mugabi misses with a few strikes there.
Rios misses with a body shot.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mugabi, right into the meat.
The fighters circle, before Mugabi throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Rios's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Mugabi lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). John Mugabi!
