The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jackson doesn't seem bothered though.
Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Schmidt circles away.
Jackson wants to clinch.
Jackson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Schmidt cracks a nice hook into Jackson's ribs.
Schmidt stuns Jackson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Schmidt lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jackson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Factory in the buildup to the fight.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schmidt as he jumps to the side.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schmidt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Schmidt has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jackson is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Schmidt digs a good body shot into Jackson's ribs.
Schmidt scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jackson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Schmidt misses with the combination.
Schmidt comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Schmidt tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Schmidt scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Schmidt lands a body shot.
Schmidt keeps the fight on the outside.
Schmidt feints a jab promting Jackson to slip. Schmidt then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jackson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Schmidt lands a nice looking body shot.
Schmidt connects with a single shot there.
Schmidt ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jackson tries to clinch up
and Schmidt counters with a stiff right hand.

Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Schmidt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Schmidt scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Smoosh Jackson has been cut.
Schmidt scores with a hook to the body. Jackson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jackson. Schmidt does a little dance to reset his feet.
Schmidt scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jackson in his tracks.
Schmidt uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Jackson is rocked!
Jackson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Schmidt manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Oh Jackson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Schmidt fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Jackson to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Jackson looks to clinch but Schmidt throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Jackson taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
