PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Napoleon Bonaparte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Wu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Wu misses.
Wu misses with a hook. Bonaparte ducked under it nicely.
Wu throws a series of punches but Bonaparte moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wu is defended easily by Bonaparte.
Bonaparte throwing a counter right hand but Wu manages to avoid it.
Wu has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bonaparte is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Bonaparte missing with a left hand there. Wu was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Wu swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bonaparte kicks Wu off and gets back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wu shoots in looking for a takedown but Bonaparte manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bonaparte's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bonaparte duly obliges.

Wu slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Wu scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bonaparte to see if he's OK.

Bonaparte is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Wu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bonaparte might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wu's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Wu wants to control the pace but Bonaparte is squirming around nicely.

Charlie Wu dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bonaparte stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bonaparte wants it to stay on the feet.
It looked like Bonaparte wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Bonaparte tries to bum rush Wu with a series of wild strikes but Wu uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Wu shoots in and drives through. Bonaparte sprawls well.
Wu shoots for a double leg takedown but Bonaparte sprawls well. He's pushed Wu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Napoleon Bonaparte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Wu.

Bonaparte definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Wu might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Bonaparte lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Bonaparte can't find room to land a body shot as Wu controls the action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bonaparte's waist but Bonaparte gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wu off to one side.

Wu misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bonaparte knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wu on the ground.
Bonaparte is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Wu lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Bonaparte throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wu.

That was a close second round but I would say that Napoleon Bonaparte will probably get the nod.

Bonaparte circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Wu tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Bonaparte wins by KO!
