Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Williams!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksey Borodin!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Borodin sprawls well initially but Williams persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Borodin works his way to full guard. Good work.
Williams has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Williams postures up in Borodin's guard and throws a big left but Borodin blocks it.
Borodin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Borodin is looking to stand up but Williams isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams trying to control but Borodin is working from the bottom.
Borodin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Williams is controlling him.
Borodin has momentary wrist control but Williams slips an elbow through the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Borodin has his feet on Williams's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Aleksey Borodin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Borodin stuffs the takedown.
It seemed like Borodin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Williams doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Borodin jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Matt Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Donk. Borodin catches Williams right on the button with a cross.
Borodin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Williams under the eye.
Williams has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Matt Williams has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A decent looking cross lands there for Borodin.
Williams has been working on his balance at World Combat Sports Academy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Borodin.
Borodin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

and Borodin counters with a straight right hand.

Williams takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Williams is breathing heavily.

Borodin lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Williams sprawling to the canvas. Borodin follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Williams hang on?


Williams is rocked!
Well, if Borodin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Oh Williams is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Borodin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working.
Williams seems to have got his legs back now.
Borodin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Borodin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Borodin decides to stand and escape the position.

Borodin lands a jab to the nose.
Williams dives in for a single leg takedown but Borodin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A countering left hand to the body from Borodin misses.
Williams is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Borodin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Borodin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Borodin drops Williams with a big left hand and mounts him. Williams is in big trouble!

Williams seems to have got his legs back now.

Williams is squirming around, avoiding Borodin's attempts to control the action.
Williams is wriggling around trying to escape.
Borodin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Williams is looking to escape.
Williams is in all sorts of trouble here.

Borodin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Williams drops his hands momentarily and Borodin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Borodin tests Williams's chin there with a solid looking shot.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Williams tries to roll over but Borodin keeps him under control.
Borodin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Borodin scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Williams misses with a lunging right hand
and Borodin counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Williams shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Borodin counters with a stiff right hand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Borodin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Borodin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Williams in his tracks.
Borodin cracks Williams with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Williams falls to his knees and Borodin doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
