Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Sepulveda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Because I Can (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sepulveda comes into the arena with Llorando se Fue blaring out of the sound system. Because I Can is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Alejandro Sepulveda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Because I Can!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sepulveda looks to land a right hand but I Can moved out of range.
Sepulveda has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD-Guts & Glory Gym in the buildup to the fight.
I Can smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Nice uppercut lands for Sepulveda. That snapped I Can's head back.
Sepulveda throws a lazy uppercut

and I Can counters with a series of strikes that sends Sepulveda to the canvas! I Can follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!


Sepulveda is rocked!
Sepulveda keeping moving, preventing I Can from controlling successfully.
Oh Sepulveda is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
I Can controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sepulveda seems to have got his legs back now.
I Can pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sepulveda is keeping the position for now.

Sepulveda looking for a guillotine here but I Can defends easily.

I Can has gone for a leg lock! Sepulveda slips out almost immediately though and dives into I Can's guard.

Our spies down at at Holding Cell inform us that I Can has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
I Can wants to control the position but Sepulveda says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

I Can manages to get to full guard.

I Can is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

I Can working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Sepulveda has passed into half guard!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
I Can is looking to control Sepulveda's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can I Can avoid being mounted?
I Can is looking for a sweep. Sepulveda is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
I Can trying to control here.
I Can slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

I Can escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sepulveda gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

I Can looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sepulveda tries to free his leg and advance position but I Can is retaining full guard.
I Can controls Sepulveda momentarily but Sepulveda frees himself.

I Can is looking for a triangle but Sepulveda pushes his legs off easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now I Can is on top in guard.

Sepulveda has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but I Can has passed into side control.

I Can is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sepulveda is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Sepulveda is looking to reverse the position.
I Can misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

I Can goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sepulveda has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for I Can but great work by Sepulveda.
Sepulveda takes a little break here. I Can wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
I Can tries to buck Sepulveda off but Sepulveda is having none of it.

Sepulveda wants to control but I Can is keeping him busy.
I Can is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Sepulveda is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
I Can tries to control Sepulveda's body but Sepulveda pushes him off. I Can squirms to his side and now Sepulveda has his back!
Sepulveda doesn't have the hooks in and I Can manages to turn into his guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

I Can drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sepulveda dives on top into guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Because I Can will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


I Can dives in for a single leg takedown but Sepulveda sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
I Can scores with a nice strike.
I Can takes a jab right on the kisser.
Good shot there by Sepulveda.
Sepulveda fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. I Can looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Sepulveda shoots in and bounces I Can off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sepulveda passes easily into side control. Nice work.
I Can tries to buck Sepulveda off but Sepulveda is having none of it.

Sepulveda trying to control the position but I Can is working away.
I Can is trying to improve his position.
I Can is not content to let Sepulveda control the position.
I Can wants to control but Sepulveda postures up.
Sepulveda wants to lay and pray for a moment but I Can keeps working.
I Can is trying to control Sepulveda's posture but Sepulveda avoids it.
I Can looks to move to half guard but instead Sepulveda has passed into mount! Damn!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
I Can really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
I Can looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
I Can can't escape the position.
I would not like to be I Can right now.
Alejandro Sepulveda overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
I Can breaks Sepulveda's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

I Can drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sepulveda dives on top into guard.


I Can is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sepulveda is aware though and is defending well.
I Can is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
I Can wants to improve his position but instead Sepulveda has moved into half guard.
I Can is looking to control Sepulveda's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can I Can avoid being mounted?
I Can is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

I Can moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Sepulveda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. I Can swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sepulveda drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sepulveda jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Sepulveda fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
I Can fails to land with a series of punches.

I Can shoots in and bounces Sepulveda off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Because I Can seems to be getting the better of the standup.
I Can with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sepulveda to score with a decent uppercut.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sepulveda throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. I Can tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sepulveda is in I Can's guard.
I Can is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sepulveda makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sepulveda.

I Can stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sepulveda swivels though and keeps the full guard.
I Can trying to control the position from guard on top but Sepulveda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

I Can is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sepulveda is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sepulveda has escaped and now he's on top!


I Can is looking for a triangle but Sepulveda pushes his legs off easily.
I Can takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

I Can wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and Sepulveda has taken I Can's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and I Can has been forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alejandro Sepulveda!
A very excited looking Alejandro Sepulveda rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Because I Can was interviewed post fight and said 'I'm so handsome i'm not surprised this guy was all over me the way he was!'.
