Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Santo Dorsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Natalio Cavanaugh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santo Dorsey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Natalio Cavanaugh!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cavanaugh shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dorsey napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Cavanaugh looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Dorsey sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Dorsey pushes Cavanaugh off and gets back to his feet.

Cavanaugh clinches up against the cage.
Dorsey has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cavanaugh after a bit of a struggle.

Dorsey is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cavanaugh can't fight it off and eventually Dorsey manages to take the fight to the floor. Cavanaugh looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cavanaugh is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dorsey is controlling him.

Dorsey with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Cavanaugh closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cavanaugh lands in his opponent's guard.

Dorsey manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Dorsey tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Dorsey is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dorsey drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Cavanaugh gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dorsey jumps guard but Cavanaugh turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Dorsey has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cavanaugh after a bit of a struggle.

Dorsey gets control of Cavanaugh's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dorsey will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dorsey moves out of range as Cavanaugh throws a body kick.

Santo Dorsey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cavanaugh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dorsey has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cavanaugh has managed to get both his arms back between Dorsey's legs - danger averted.
Dorsey seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cavanaugh throws a head kick that misses.

Dorsey shoots in and bounces Cavanaugh off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Dorsey could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Dorsey keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cavanaugh's head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cavanaugh has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dorsey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cavanaugh.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cavanaugh is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Dorsey staying calm.

Dorsey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cavanaugh is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cavanaugh is not content to let Dorsey control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Dorsey gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dorsey closes the distance and pushes Cavanaugh back into the cage.

Dorsey is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cavanaugh is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Dorsey has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Cavanaugh is on him like a limpet, forcing Dorsey back against the cage.

Dorsey has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cavanaugh's face.

Cavanaugh looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Cavanaugh is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Dorsey.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dorsey, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
