Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Herrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AceKiLLah Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Herrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, AceKiLLah Jr!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jr shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Herrera manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Herrera wants to get back to his feet but Jr passes into half guard.

Herrera has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jr is working away from the top position though.
Herrera pushes Jr off looking to stand but Jr dives back in and keeps control.
Jr slips a nice elbow through Herrera's hands, connecting with Herrera's forehead.
Herrera wants to get back to full guard.
Jr missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Jr trying to mount his opponent but Herrera defends it.

Jr is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Herrera sees it coming and defends easily.
Herrera gets full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Herrera keeping moving, preventing Jr from controlling successfully.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Herrera is on top in guard.


Herrera drops back looking for a leg! Jr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jr manages to kick Herrera off! Herrera jumps back into Jr's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jr is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jr has his hands on Herrera's head, controlling the position.
Herrera is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jr controlling the position.

Jr pushes Herrera off and scrambles back to his feet.
Jr connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Some wild striking there from Jr.
Herrera tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jr manages to circle out of the way.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Herrera shoots in for a takedown but Jr shows good takedown defense.
Jr misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Herrera seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Jr looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Herrera gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jr throws a one two combo.

Jr feints and as Herrera raises his hands in defense, Jr changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Herrera is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Jr presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jr manages to break the clinch.
Jr throws a hook but Herrera avoids it easily.
Herrera seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Herrera blocks the body kick.
Herrera moves out of range of the body kick.
Jr should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Jr connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Jr gets the takedown into side control.

Herrera throws Jr to one side and escapes!
Jr throws a push kick but Herrera slaps the foot to one side.
Herrera attempts a counter takedown but Jr avoids it well and moves away.
Jr throws a leg kick
and Herrera counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Jr tries a head kick but it misses.
Herrera appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Herrera slips under a jab.
Herrera is looking for a counter combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

AceKiLLah Jr dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Herrera counters with a one-two to the body.

Herrera lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Herrera is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Jr is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Herrera working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jr can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jr is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Jr looking to control but Herrera passes into half guard.
Herrera prevents Jr from standing back up.
Jr wants to control but Herrera is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Herrera is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Herrera not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Herrera is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jr preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Herrera looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jr looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Herrera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jr throws out a leg kick but Herrera moves out of range and Jr only half commits.
Jr lands a glancing blow to the side of Herrera's head.

Jr bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Herrera bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jr.
Herrera attempts a counter takedown but Jr avoids it well and moves away.

Herrera fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jr, pushing him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A hook to the body from Jr.

Jr manages to break the clinch.
Herrera shoots in for a takedown but Jr shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
As Herrera backs off Jr throws a huge counter combo but Herrera manages to avoid it all.
Jr throws a right hand that Herrera ducks under and follows up with a left that Herrera also avoids with ease.
Herrera half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jr shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jr is breathing heavily.
Jr wants to land a leg kick but Herrera is out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean Herrera dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

As Jr looks to move away, Herrera throws a big counter combo but Jr just gets out of the way.
Jr throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Herrera counters with a three punch combo that has Jr backing up. Jr nods at Herrera to acknowledge the strikes.
Horrible takedown attempt by Jr or perhaps it was just good defense by Herrera, which made it look bad.
Jr throws a nice outside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jr throws a leg kick but Herrera checks it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Herrera is defended easily by Jr.

Jr misses with a wild combination.
Jr misses with a hook
and Herrera counters with a series of strikes. Jr will be more careful next time no doubt.
Jr lands a jab-cross combination.
Jr throws a jab when Herrera was well out of range.
Jr throws a shot to the body.
Jr takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Herrera tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Herrera closes the distance and clinches up with Jr, looking for a takedown. Herrera pushes Jr against the cage but Jr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jr misses with a double jab.

Jr moves into the clinch successfully.
Herrera blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Herrera tries to pull guard but Jr won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Herrera. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Herrera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jr slaps away a takedown attempt from Herrera, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jr fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jr misses with a hook. Herrera ducked under it nicely.
Herrera appears to be looking for a big counter.
Jr throws a half hearted mid kick.

Jr looking to score a takedown here. Herrera is defending well but Jr drives through and ends up in Herrera's guard.

Herrera manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Herrera displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jr throws out the jab.

And that's the end of the fight!
AceKiLLah Jr comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jr has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

AceKiLLah Jr decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
