Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Troy Queen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Gain!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Queen just misses with a punch to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gain is defended easily by Queen.
A counter left hand to the body from Queen misses its target.
Queen stuns Gain with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Queen lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Queen just misses with a punch to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gain has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Queen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Queen wants it to stay on the feet.
Queen cracks Gain with a right hand to the side of the head.
Gain shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Queen sprawls well. Queen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gain gets slowly back to his feet.
Troy Queen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Gain.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gain tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Queen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Queen throws out a powerful jab.
Queen lands a jab to the head.
Gain with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Queen to score with a decent uppercut.

Gain shoots in for a takedown but Queen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Queen scores with a sloppy right hand. Gain should have avoided that one.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gain takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Queen takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Queen cracks Gain with a good jab.
Queen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gain takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Queen lands an overhand right.
Troy Queen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gain is trying hard to land a takedown here. Queen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gain shoots in looking for a takedown. Queen tries to sprawl out of it but Gain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Queen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Queen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Queen's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gain under the eye.
Queen connects with a body shot.

Gain looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Queen!
Sloppy strikes there by Gain.

Queen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Gain.

Gain tries for a kimura but Queen is defending well.

Gain is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Queen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gain is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Queen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Gain thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Queen defending against the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Gain tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gain has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Gain trying to control the position but Queen is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gain in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Queen is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bruce Gain!
In his post fight interview, Bruce Gain started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
