Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Carroll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sean Carroll will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shane Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sean Carroll!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carroll throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Carroll lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Carroll closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reeves did well to prevent Carroll getting side control.
Carroll not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Carroll missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Carroll lands a nice short elbow.
Carroll thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Reeves's head.
Reeves moves into full guard.
Reeves being controlled here, momentarily.
Carroll postures up in Reeves's guard and throws a big left but Reeves blocks it.
Reeves is breathing heavily.
Reeves lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Carroll wants to stand and escape but Reeves is having none of it.
Carroll is trying to keep Reeves in close.
Reeves looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Carroll has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Reeves has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Reeves trying to land knees to the body.
Carroll can't break the clinch.
Carroll swings wildly with an uppercut but Reeves uses good head movement to avoid it.

Carroll's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Carroll throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Carroll misses with a jab, cross combination.
Carroll looks to land a combination. Reeves sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Reeves throws a sloppy head kick and Carroll moves out of range easily.
Reeves checks the leg kick.
Reeves thinks about countering with a head kick.
Reeves tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Reeves changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carroll tries to avoid it but Reeves manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carroll to the ground. Carroll escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Carroll throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Reeves was covering up waiting for the punch and Carroll finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Reeves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Carroll scoring with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carroll landing some decent shots from guard.

Carroll tries to free his leg and advance position but Reeves is retaining full guard.
Carroll connects with a couple of short punches.

Reeves controls Carroll momentarily but Carroll frees himself.
Reeves is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carroll is controlling him.
Carroll postures up in Reeves's guard and throws a big left but Reeves blocks it.

Carroll drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Reeves dives on top into guard.

Reeves engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Reeves wants to pass the guard but Carroll is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carroll throws a right hand that Reeves ducks under and follows up with a left that Reeves also avoids with ease.
Some wild striking there from Carroll.
Shane Reeves is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carroll tries to bum rush Reeves with a series of wild strikes but Reeves uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No joy there for Carroll, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Reeves attempts a counter takedown but Carroll avoids it well and moves away.
Reeves tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carroll paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Carroll fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Reeves.
Reeves stuffs the takedown attempt from Carroll. Carroll gets slowly back to his feet.
Carroll misses with a wild combination.
A quick step to the side and Reeves tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sean Carroll seems to be getting the better of the standup.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carroll stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carroll wants it to stay on the feet.
Reeves tries to clinch but Carroll moves out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Carroll misses with a jab, cross combination.
Carroll connects with a right hand. Reeves shakes it off.

Reeves throws a leg kick but Carroll sees it coming and moves out of range.
A left and a right from Carroll both land. Nice combination.

Carroll lands with a kick to the ribs.
A looping hook to the body misses from Reeves. Carroll does a little dance to reset his feet.
Reeves shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carroll but Carroll pushes him off and we're back to square one.

You can see the frustration on Reeves's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carroll tries to score with some ground and pound. Reeves controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Carroll wants to stand but Reeves is controlling his arm.
Reeves is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Carroll off and has taken his back!
Reeves is trying to stick to Carroll's back but Carroll is turning into Reeves. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Reeves's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Carroll.
Carroll really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reeves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reeves has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Carroll off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Reeves has taken the fight to the clinch.

Carroll has clasped his hands together around Reeves's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Carroll with the ground and pound but Reeves regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Reeves regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Carroll.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carroll accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Carroll throws a big elbow that misses.
Reeves is pulling down on Carroll's head to control his posture.
Carroll has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Reeves wants to get back to his feet but Carroll is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Carroll is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Reeves keeping moving, preventing Carroll from controlling successfully.
Reeves wants to stand up but Carroll is controlling him.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reeves is on top in guard.

Reeves trying to control but Carroll is working from the bottom.

Reeves is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Reeves tries to free his leg and advance position but Carroll is retaining full guard.

Sean Carroll showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Carroll throws a right hand that Reeves ducks under and follows up with a left that Reeves also avoids with ease.
Reeves shoots for a double leg takedown but Carroll sprawls well. He's pushed Reeves's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Carroll's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Carroll duly obliges.

and Reeves counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Carroll is pressing down on Reeves's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Reeves throws an elbow that misses. Carroll uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reeves's guard. Nice move by Carroll!

Carroll is looking to work some ground and pound but Reeves has wrist control.
Reeves wants to sweep but no luck.
Carroll in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Reeves is looking for a triangle but Carroll pushes his legs off easily.

Carroll stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Carroll scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Carroll lands a lovely overhand right.
Carroll will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Reeves scores with the left hand. Carroll knows he should have avoided that one.
Carroll lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Reeves closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carroll to the mat! Carroll manages to get full guard.

I've got Carroll winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
